about

Cordion, originated from Oslo, consists of Tommy Jansen who is in charge of most of the instruments, and Christopher Johansen who sings. Their music can be described as click electronica, linked to the musical landscape of the Berlin-scene and the latest album from Björk and her latest collaborators - Opiate and Matmos.

Their music is melancholic and subtle, and the electronics are mixed with acoustic instruments like accordion, double bass and strings-not unlike the Icelandic bands Múm and Sigur Rós. However, Cordion have a more stripped sound, and Christopher Johansen's distinct "go for the throat" vocals. The mood is located somewhere in central Europe, a late summer night on a café in Italy, then suddenly on a rusty tram through Krakow downtown.
